Hopefully, this is the last user-caused downtime that will happen! Anyways, like the title said, this will be a mini "What's up?" blog post. Why is that? Because unfortunately, we don't have many Super Mario Hacks to show off! In fact, all of the mods put in today's blog is made by one man, which goes by Buntendo A proper blog post should come later on, but for now, this will suffice. New themes in SMM include The Seaside Kingdom & Mount Volbano / Luncheon Kingdom. Mario Making Mods News -"Super Mario Maker: Yoshi Gone missing" will, unfortunately, be delayed for a while. -We now have a new forum feature: Thread search! This can help you easily find threads on a forum page, but unfortunately, it doesn't look through all the pages, and you'll need to have JavaScript enabled for this. -If you quote this post and look at the sentence "New themes include", you'll see that they a) don't have tags & b) have an added s to the end. While this may get confusing after a while, we have made a version of the thread BBCode which removes the tags. -We now have a Patreon Page! The link for it should be in the Navigation bar in a short while! There are many advantages of becoming an MMM Patron, including: ~Access to early patron-only content on the page, the forum and the discord server! (well, I can't force everyone to go through that, as I'll only do it for the content that either I release, or people volunteer. Keep in mind that the time difference between the mods release date & the public release is 14 days. Never will I put a mod out for being "Patreon-only") ~Sneak peek photos of upcoming releases ~Patron-only polls ~Have a special Rank on the forum. -We have now affiliated with 2 amazing websites which are called "Horizon" and "SMMDB". You can find a link to Horizon in the "NSMBW forum" and a link to SMMDB at the top bar! ~Due to inactivity, I have demoted "MayroSMM" from main admin and replaced him with "Huseyin". ~I am in the middle of making a Halloween theme for the forum... ~We have officially gotten rid of IRC, in favor of discord, as the IRC relay thing is dumb and no one really liked it... -We now have moved to a newer host, due to some issues with the old one. I will not go into details here, but if you really want to know, just talk to me about it in private. Anyways, this host is one that I'll be paying, and while it is twice the price of the old one, the quality is great. and even though they provide a VPS for the same price as the old one, its way better! The old host used OVH while the new one uses VPSCheap! While this server has the same amount of RAM, it has 4 cores (the old one had one slow and shitty core) & a 50GB SSD. A huge shoutout to Repflez who helped me out with moving this site and Horizon. Why do we need a patron? Basically, for this host, I'm paying for it myself, and unfortunately, I can not do this alone, so I need a bit of support. Also, if you are wondering where the money is going, it's going into a PayPal account where the host will take the money from. And just in case you were wondering what the card is, it's an unreloadable prepaid master card that originally had 50$ inside of it, I put it on a PayPal account (which means it can merge credit card money together), had 7$ taken off of for initial purchase and has 40$ taken off as well for "prepaid service" (basically, you pay for the VPS in advance, which should pay off 5 months)). This is only for the hosting because the domain is paid off by Aileen Lumina! I hope you guys enjoy the mini What's up article! Honestly, its a bit rushed because I wanted to get the news out as soon as possible!

NightYoshi370 Owner Since: 05-17-17	I haven't quite found an in depth tutorial on this so i figured i might as well. Padding is often found in many files under the extensions of .szs, .sarc, .pack, and many more. If you save these file with a program like Wii U zip or some other program that repacks these without padding, your game will crash. Instances of padding I noticed: Wind Waker: -permanent_3d.pack has a padding value of 0x1000 -Many map models are using a padding value of 0x2000 BOTW -Font_EU.sbfarc has a padding value of 0x2000 SM3DW -All Objectdata have a padding of 0x2000 I believe. Super Mario Maker -In model folder, most if not all have 0x2000 padding value Alright now lets figure out if a sarc needs padding, what value it needs, and where it is located in hex. You will need: HxD (or similar) smb123w64gb's modified uwizard that has padding feature. Yaz0dec Now open your file in hex. If it shows "Yaz0" in hex then you should decompress it by dragging it into yaz0dec.exe. You can alternatively look at the padding value at 0x0A but i suggest doing this instead just in case. Now open that output file in hex. it should say "SARC" in it on the right. There are 4 bytes at 0x0E. This is the padding value highlighted in red and should be where your value is too. So this file uses a padding value of 0x2000. A file without padding generally will have either nothing but 0s or a bunch of hex numbers with no zeros. The best way to figure it out however is to resave the original sarc without padding applied and see if it works or not since there still isn't an exact way of knowing. So we need to apply our padding value on repacking. Put all files you extracted into one folder. Then we need to open Uwizard and type our padding value. Click on PACK .pack (Adjustable Padding) Then select your folder. Now save it as a .sarc. Then reopen it in hex. The value should remain the same as before. This means it worked! If your file was previously Yaz0 compressed, re-compress it with this (made by smb123w64gb). And lastly rename your files with extensions as they were originally. NightYoshi370 Owner Since: 05-17-17	So, um, anyways, I was looking at Jamie's forum, and I saw a thread about the 16-bit console wars. I thought it would be a nice thread to have here as well. So, um, what was the best console during the 16-bit era? I prefer the Sega Genesis because of these four simple reasons: a) Add-ons, b) Sonic, c) 6 buttons instead of 4. d) Music Now, the add-ons mean that you can basically play any game on this bad boy. I know that there were add-ons for the SNES, but there was just one made (Super Gameboy), and SNES add-ons were only allowed to be added to the cartridge slot. The Genesis, on the other hand, had 3: A Sega CD cartridge, a Sega CD side, and a Sega 32X. (I won't go in depth on them here because this is a 16-bit war, not CD/32 bit war.) Now, for sonic, I love having fun with him. I mean, sure, Mario has higher quality games as a platformer, but I rarely found myself playing that. But sonic, I love playing back with, especially Sonic 3 and Sonic CD, although, I can't include CD on this list. The six button layout is something I never understood why Sega would add it, but it would make an excellent addition. Too bad no one uses them. And finally, my most important opinion of this argument, and last but certainly not least, the Music. While I like the classic songs, the Sega Genesis feels like if it had modern instruments. Part one: Uploading the actual image. for this, we will be using imgur but you can use pretty much anything as long as you get the actual IMG URL 1. Go to imgur's website. 2. Click "New Post". 3. Click "Browse" 4. Browse through your files and try to find your image. 5. You have now uploaded the image. Part two: Getting the image from imgur to the forum. 1. Below where it says "Give your post a title...", if you hover over the image, it should show you a URL link, a copy button and a dropdown. Click on the dropdown. 2. Click "Get Share Links" 3. Below "BBCode (Forums)", there should be a copy button, click it. 4. Paste it in your post. 5. change the `[im g]` (Remove the space between the m and the g) to `[im gs]` and do the same for the end tag. 6.
