It's the only way I found that wouldn't crash the game. So what is the simpler way to do it ? Because I don't see it in your guide.

Extract your SZS with SARCExtract, open the Output.bfres in BFRES Tool, it'll export dds files from the bfres, so then you open them in paint.net or gimp 2 and edit them, then save them as A8R8G8B8 DDS files, then in BFRES tool, click the button for the sprite you want to replace, locate your DDS file, and it'll automatically write it to the Output.bfres. Then you can use SARCPacker or even Wexos's Toolbox to make a new SARC, then use libyaz0 to compress it to a szs file, then open the original szs and the new szs in a hex editor, and if there's a 20 at offset 0 byte 0A in the original, put it there in the new one. The hex editing for byte 0A is not necessary for M1-MW tilesets.

OHMEGERD, indeed. But seriously, this mod is super cool and you all should download it, it was super fun having to play through it! Though making the video itself was super boring.

I have no idea if they require it, I know the backgrounds for NSMBU do but idk the tileset. After you look at it ingame, if it looks corrupted, then put the 20 value.

I mean you could hex edit a BG file to have M7 or whatever instead of M1 on the bfres.

I personally would still change the palette icons, it's pretty easy to change them.

your dragging in the wrong byaml, only some work with yamlconv.

uhh you don't make xml files you extract the byaml edit then put it through yamlconv again since it's pretty hard to make at first (replying to nightyoshi)

yeah, idk what nightyoshi was talking about. Make sure your dragging in M1_SceneDB.byaml and nothing else into yamlconv.

is there a way of adding sound effects? for the mod i'm making for MayroSMM, i enabled wall jumping and ground pounding and spin jumping, but only when you start to ground pound has a sound right now.
